8/23/2023 0 Comments Mylio app review![]() Can you please elaborate on how you were able to access the full-sized original from your iPhone though it only had compressed versions of the files? I am trialing Mylio right now and do not see any way to do this, though interestingly I seem to be able to download larger video clips if Mylio is running on devices that have them. Which would mean it is really just an image browser. But the information on Mylio’s website is somewhat opaque it seems to suggest that if you have the iOS device set to auto-optimize file size, you will not have access to full-sized images - you are stuck with whatever smaller version has been synced to the device. I assumed that Mylio could do this, similar to how my iOS devices can pull down a full-res version from iCloud. I chose the original, did some minor tweaking to the file, sent the new image off to my Assitant who had gone home for Christmas and she replaced the image in question with the new image, all within 30 minutes of finding the problem we had. With a database that large it only holds thumbnails but Mylio will allow me to download a Preview or even the oringal. I was able to find a new image on my iPhone running Mylio which holds my entire 1.2 Million image database. I had left my MacBook Pro and iPad at home with nothing on the road other than my iPhone. And that includes 1.2 million photos on my 256gig iPhone. ![]() Either way, I've just not found any program that can even come close to Mylio in handling my 1.2 million image library on even one machine, let alone the ten devices I currently have Mylio on. ![]() I'm hopeful and fairly confident that with the Syncing update out of the way we're going to start seeing added features. Mylio's claim to fame has always been unrivaled Synching but now it's much, much faster. The folks at Mylio just released a major update as far as improving the Sync capabilities. ![]() When you open the RAW file DXO sees the changes and you pick up where you left off last time you edited that image. However, if I do need additional changes, DXO saves an XMP like sidecar file that contains all info from the original edit. I'm unsure since I've never checked with any other third party editors and how or if they see any of the changes made with DXO. However, I do believe they are working on this for a future update.ģ). Unfortunately, there is no way to stack at this point. There is an option in DXO to Save AS DNG however.Ģ). The file going back into Mylio is no longer the original RAW. If you save an edited file, what is the best file type to maximize quality? Is there any type where edits could be continued by another third-party editor?ġ). If you can only send an edited photo back as a new file, is there anyway to stack the edited versions in Mylio? In other words, so you don't see 2 separate files in your viewer?ģ. Can you only send an edited RAW file from a third party editor back to Mylio as a new file (i.e., TIFF, JPEG, DNG, etc.)? Is there any way to simply edit the RAW and have Mylio read those edits from the XMP sidecar such that you still only have 1 RAW file in Mylio?Ģ. Can't say enough good things about their support.Ī few questions for those who use Mylio as it pertains to editing - specifically, when you send a RAW file to an external editor such as DXO, RAWPower, etc.ġ. That's not to say they implement every suggestion but there are a lot of features in Mylio that first started as a suggestion to their support department. I've found them more responsive than ANY other software company I've ever contacted. Have you found them to be responsive? is there some special feature you would advise me to look for? They emailed me it is in the que of updates. I do this all the time so I can crop equally or show a patient their before and after. My biggest grievance if I may, with Mylio is the inability to open multiple images at one time. I was worried Mylio was not robust enough until I read you have an enormous library and then I read the Mylio blog and the story of the polar bear organization and the contribution Mylio is making to this organizations communications. I have always wished there was a way to sync that library between different computers however the program was so excellent I was unwilling to switch. I am a dentist with over 100,000 images in my library. I have tried lightroom, looked at on1 which felt overwhelming. I have been paralyzed by this shift from Aperature. Thank you so much for your post about Mylio.
